Fact
During the season 2004 at least 48 climbers have died in Baksan Valley, a few are still missing. Bad weather and the
rapidly change of weather can be reasons (white out, storms etc). Unfortenaly, to many do not register at the Mountain
Resque Center before the climb, this mean that a few persons disapear without any further notice. If you read this,
please do register, it's for free.
Whit a guide the success rate to reach the summit are approx. 85%. For those without a guide the seccess rate are less,
unless the group have enough experience and knowledge.
